Rebecca is very calming. Wish my kids had her. Routines are in place solidly. Rebecca has great classroom management and reinforces it positively. She checked in and made sure everyone was on task. Turn and talk is great. You have to be careful sometimes how students are paired up. Guided peer review was useful, especially for older students who need to make meaningful comments and help kids who are struggling. She modeled finishing her list while everyone else was working. At fourth grade lost of the writing is with a mentor text; students at all level need exposure to these texts. The lesson was inclusive of more than one type of writing. The think-aloud was very effective, clear and natural. The list of accountable talk stems is useful for students of all levels.
