Good job! Like the variety of activities. Would like to see samples of each choice. How many students do you have? Do you talk about the explanation page during the conference, or is this an extra page to read? Impressive that you can turn graded assignments around in two days. Good to have students do something personal -- what classroom management/discussions do you provide to make it comfortable for students to share deeply personal writing? Reflective piece is good -- good to get students to think about the choices they are making. What is the function of the "Talk Starters"? Is it after they share? Good to have that discussion. Lots of grading -- limit to voice or one focus area of correction. Similar to Colleen's lesson and Tracie's lesson -- synthesize. Children's book is a nice idea for high school students to do for younger students.
